I'll be honest in saying I've never shopped at the Gap. The only reason I'm mentioning them now is that I like the cut of this dress from ThreeAsFour... but only in the front... I'm just wondering what happened to the back of it?? It's like they ran out of fabric or something and just threw on two straps. wtf? While $88 is a good price for then taking this and dying it black (because I would) I just don't know if I can get into the back like that. It looks like a completely different dress.

In what is a most incredibly epic move, Daphne Guinness is auctioning off what is probably not even a huge hit to her wardrobe for Kerry Taylor Auctions/Sotheby's on April 29th for the Womankind Worldwide charity. You can peruse the 267 lots, many of which include at least 3 or more pairs of shoes, dresses, trousers, jackets, belts, bags and more! The estimated bid on many of the auctions is way lower than I know it will actually soar to but if I had my picks, I'd take the Ann Demeulemeester & Rick Owens lots.

The jeans lot probably has some very cool jeans especially considering it includes the red pair that she X'd on the knees as seen in the Secret World of Haute Couture video I posted before. Also, I'll bet there are some cool R'N'R tee's up for grabs as well.

There really is so much available and while you're picking up some amazing pieces be sure that you're also helping out womankind in the process.

Epicly enough, this package from Brendan Donnelly (who I've mentioned recently made the killer Black Flag shirt) was also on my door step yesterday and can I just say, OMGG I love these shirts so much. Not only are they printed on like the softest tee's ever but he seriously killed it with each design. My boyfriend is claiming the Black Flag shirt as his and I don't think you'll be able to get me out of the Motörhead tee for a while. Thanks Brendan!!

No shit. One of my favorite Ksubi tee's has hit the shelves at Urban... sort of. On the left is the Ksubi and on the right is this new tee at UO. While you could find the Ksubi fire island tee retailing for around $130, you can get your hands on this amazing shirt at UO for a cool $36. I dig deep v-neck tee's and this has been one of my favorites for a while which means I'll definitely be picking up this one as well.

Seriously, my Alexander Wang bag is the best ever. The details, of which there are many, are incredible. Like the screws built into the bag holding down the leather that divides the chain straps along the sides. The leather zipper detail around the neck that no matter if you move the bag in front of you or behind you, always stays on your neck as to avoid metal on skin rubbing but instead smooth soft black leathery goodness. It's not too big, not too small and after carefully placing all of my belongings inside I found they all fit perfectly (there's even a patch pocket inside that my iphone fits in perfectly. I seriously love Alexander Wang even more now! And after weeks of obsessing over it, I can't wait to get my hands on some of Erin's jewelry titled LowLuv, because I have a feeling that the two paired together would look incredible.. as seen below and at Wang's fall show.

I post a lot of music and other peoples playlists regularly here so I thought I'd post one of mine, kind of. So here's a CD I made for my friend Kathy the other night that I think is pretty ripping. I make my boyfriend listen and make sure with me that every track melds well (which is how Angelblood just didn't make the cut, no matter how much I wanted to put them on there) with the one following it, this is a lot easier to do on itunes than in the days of making mixtapes and ffwd rwnd and taping over songs that didn't fit and well, you get the deal. If I knew how to make a proper zip download thing I'd have made something you guys could all get but for now you can find 'em all and assemble on your own.

Back in January my daily check of fav Style File mentioned Alexander Wang was designing some incredibly amazing black leather bags that would be out in February at select stores. Well I haven't heard anything about them since (except spying some on the runway at his Fall show in Feb) but after perusing ShopBop this evening I noticed that this insanely wonderful amazing bag was up for grabs, realized it was the same Wang bag I've been staring in my Wants folder (yes this exists) and bought it immediately. I AM SO STOKED. I've been running Zara & Chanel bags for the last few years and have been looking for something new that wasn't going to be seen on everyone else (see: Stam bag, etc etc etc etc etc you know them all). In the SF article they quoted Wang as saying the bags would be under $700 but upon purchase, it definitely was under $700 although not by much.... but leather pieces are always an investment, right? SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY SO STOKED!!!

One of my favorite movies. Jim Jarmusch is seriously the best. The first time I watched this, it was 4am and I was actually in Memphis. It was fun to pretend that maybe Joe Strummer was really running around town in a chevy truck shooting liquor store clerks. Anyway, you can go ahead and add this to your Netflix queue if you haven't seen it already. You won't be disappointed. Screamin Jay Hawkins as the front desk clerk is so killer. I cannot say enough epic things about this film.

Very into these two necklaces I scored last night from F21. The lightning bolt one actually broke while we were standing in line but my boyfriend took care of it for me and it was already marked way down so whatever. That was just more proof of not to spend even a little money on anything in there. The second one reminds me of another high end necklace, I just can't place where from.

I've never read Radar Mag before but I got a copy of the latest issue for free and besides the highlight of the owner of Rock & Republic and her Chanel addiction (motherfucker has TWO SURFBOARDS and is getting THE BIKE) there was an in depth article on Forever 21 and all their goings on. The story kind of made me laugh out loud when they said F21 find new young designers and hire them if they're christians and attend church regularly. Of course Radar found one of the young hopefuls who said she "found god" with the F21 owners and is so happy and stoked on jesus now and even prays with the owner broad. Hell, for a buck I think anyone would claim they're an insane jesus freak but I guess if you can easily dupe someone into paying you for saying you're into god, go for it. You can read most of it online.

Anyway, I was on a search for Chanel eyeshadow in "sunset gold" which is gold & black (see above) and every shop I tried was out of it! So we came home and after finding it's even sold out everywhere on line as well, I ebayed it for half the price.

Today marks five years since Scott H. Biram was nearly killed in an insane collision with a 16 wheeler.

I'm fucking glad he survived cause I love his musical stylings but if you've been reading this blog long enough, you already knew that. I never wrote about catching him play live but it was a killer show and we ended up closing the bar down with him. He definitely was every bit as epic as I had previously thought. Some new looks from Cheap Monday...

I'm not really a big fan of velvet in any form but these Cheap Monday jeans might be hard to turn down as not only are they made up of their tighter than any jeans formula but they're also black waxed!

Next up would be this tight metallic pair that once these hit stores I think will sell out immediately. I'll probably pick them up for sure..

The pvc fake leather pants are out now in brown... They're hot and for the price I think they will get snatched up by hordes of girls.. I'll still take the black pair though.. if I can ever find them.

Lastly these paint splattered pair would probably turn me off with many colors (which they've done with another pair) however these I like for some reason. Paired with the perfect and complete opposite shoes would be the best idea.

Also I want to point out that I kinda want this complete look that this kid has on! And if we were the kind of people who wanted to have a kid, well, mine would be wearing this pretty much all the time.

Wunderkind. What happens to punk girls when they grow up and have to work in offices. Hints of leopard print, plaid and leather. The details of the womens faces sketched onto some of the dresses is amazing detail. I also quite like it because the girls share my hair style of tight tight ponytail and perfectly coiffed bangs. Comme des Garcons' Kawakubo showcased a lot of hearts stitched into all the garments and I'm sick for hearts right now so I loved it. They also used my absolute favorite obnoxious pink color A LOT and I would die to wear the first look here. He really did such a killer job... the last dress is so incredible I can't take my eyes off it.

An Amy Whinehouse CD playing throughout the show is pretty hilarious, like, who hasn't been bit by the Whinehouse bug? Oh, well, I haven't but I dig the looks everyone has been creating with her as their muse.

I obviously loved Chanel. While it started out with some looks that didn't really wow me, I definitely got stoked once the black dresses started pouring out. Quilted satin is wonderful and the black/white tights are going to be huge! These two looks were my total favorites. Also, how insanely breathtaking was the runway?!?!

Busy as hell the next two weeks. Living off blueberry Clif Bars, Skinny Mocha's from Starbucks (no sugar!!!) and summer rolls. Looking forward to making lots of money, taking lots of moto rides and finding new epic jewelry. I also cannot wait to be done with 12 hour days and go on vacation, get tan and go shopppping. I made a very long day of it this week and all I ended up buying was a $5 skirt from F21 that is pretty amazing (here it is in grey).
Anyway, I don't really watch TV but I finally managed to catch the Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton doc on Sundance and it was so great! Also set your tivo's for Cat Power tonight on Jay Leno! It should be very epic, even more so if she sings Song For Bobby (here's hoping)! I read an interview with her recently detailing when she finally met Dylan in Paris for the first time and she told him she loved him and he said "well at least somebody does" and like, seriously, how amazing is that?!
Going to throw back some drinks now and then rest up.

I wrote about the womens shoes Phillip Lim collaborated with Tatimi/Birkenstock on for the Urban Blog and mentioned that he was also releasing some mens styles as well... but omg mens lace up gladiators?! I think I might die laughing if I actually saw a dude with these on!!! Yeah so my boyfriend calls them Jesus shoes and sure real gladiators/spartans/bros actually wore something similar, I just can't see this working for men right now.

I could go on for about weeks about how much I love Ann Demeulemeester's latest collection. While it does follow suit (quite literally) from the menswear, every piece was impeccable and insanely wearable at least from my point of view. She never misses a beat with the details and once again her boots are insanely killer. She is seriously the fuckin' best and I'd wear her clothes for honestly the rest of my life. Whoa. Ok. My boyfriend doesn't like gladiator sandals because he says they're "jesus shoes" and while I laugh then agree with him, this is just the one trend I'm considering finally buying into after a few seasons (and really it has to do with how much I love buckles). That is to say, if I find some I like as much as this pair from Alaia. Maybe the $929 price tag doesn't make Carine blink but I'm positive I can find something similar at a wayyyyy lower price.

So Kim Gordon & friends clothing line, Whitehorse Couture, is finally available and I have to say I like it. Their emblem alone is great and an earth with crossbones instead of the usual skull is perfect. Some of the other designs are simple, a heart here and a 'I heart Beverly Hills' there which reminds me of the Sophomore 'Very Ill' tee which I'd be more interested in wearing but I'm not a Beverly Hills type girl anyway and I'm sure that one will sell quick. The website showing scary celebs in their gear is something you gotta look past but overall this was a very cute collection for their first go 'round (not factoring in X-Girl here either).

Edited to add: Ok so Whitehorse Couture is NOT the Kim Gordon I was thinking it was (from Sonic Youth) this whole time. Oops! Still cute designs none the less, I was just excited for Kim to do another project I didn't really think twice that it was a different person of the same name. No big deal.

While delving into the world of animal prints may not really be Martin Margiela's thing, I still loved his latest collection because it's totally what I expected while not disappointing me at all. (I guess the difference here and with Westwood is how many pieces of hers I actually own so when there is a letdown collection, my wardrobe kinda suffers, get it?) The deep cut blazer, which I would love to wear... thee outrageous shoulders that are really just commonplace now, the tight trousers and full on body con suit.. amazing.

I'll never be a "jungle-dwelling eco-warrior" and so Westwood's latest collection was unfortunately a bummer for the most part. As far as the show goes, models on stilts is supremely epic and a Wizard of Oz theme runs through my head the whole time. Letting kids paint on all the clothes might be cute to some people who aren't me but OK I get it. I'm mostly interested in the trousers, about as form fitting as latex leggings and covering nearly all of the foot, they are definitely something to get excited over. I have to say I'm disappointed, while a lot of the pieces would probably work well alone, everything together as it was just doesn't do it for me... which I really hate to say, especially about Viv. Who knows, maybe this collection will grow on me once the more wearable pieces are sold.

As far as designers go, I don't outright dislike anybody and so as I've said time and time again, as long as it's black with great details, I honestly don't care who's doing it as long as it's done well.

That said, I would wear the above looks from Balmain in a heartbeat.. minus the belt in the first look.. and the vest in the second... those have to go. You will also never see me in Minnetonka boots. Ever. The skirts are so killer but I think I can probably find something similar at Forever 21, saving my bank account this week. A lot of the trousers would have worked had they not been cut to high waters and admittedly I'd probably never wear leopard print pants these days but I had a pair when I had a mohawk, an intravenous drug habit and could be found hanging around outside of ABC No Rio.

First Paris show!!!!!

I have always been a fan of Dévastée and am so excited about their latest collection shown in Paris earlier today. The detailssss are perfect. I love that they could have gone for the simple black heels/tights etc but went with REDDD which stood out perfectly. Their obsession with all things Death has always stoked me out (what can I say...) Right now these are the only images available thanks to Diane but hopefully more will surface soon. I reallllly want that silkscreened skirt/possibly dress.

Paris fashion week is my busiest week coming up. Great lattice vest from Ksubi!! They're claiming it's similar to vintage Alaïa which I guess is a selling point to some people but it makes me think black metal/bondage/biker and I'm very into that. At $255 it is something I think once purchased I'd wear a lot but maybe not as much as the bespoke racerback leather vest I'm waiting on.
